  • Human life has evolved over millions of years. In early stages, men were hunters and food gatherers.
  • They hunted wild animals, fishes and gathered fruits, nuts and seeds.

Why did the Earliest people lead a Nomadic life?

  1. If they remained at one place, assets like plant and creature would wrap up.
  2. Plants bear diverse organic products in various seasons. In this way, man too needed to move looking for these, according to seasons.
  3. People needed to move wherever water was accessible.


How do we Know about Early People?

  1. Archaeologists have found a few devices utilized by hunter gatherers.
  2. Tools were made of stone, wood, and so forth.
  3. Tools were utilized to cut meat, cleave natural products, chop fruits, etc.
  4. Wood was utilized to make huts and firewood.


Where did Early Man Live:

  1. Early man lived near sources of water.
  2. They lived in places where stones were found, and individuals made devices.
  3. The place was called industrial facility destinations.
  4. The factory sites were found near discarded blocks of stone.
  5. These were known as residence/habitation-cum-factory sites.


Stone Age:

  1. The period when for the most part stone instruments were made is known as stone age.
  2. It is partitioned into three sections:
    1. Paleolithic or Old Stone Age
    2. Mesolithic or Middle Stone Age
    3. Neolithic or New Stage Age

Making Stone Tools: Stone tools were made using two techniques: stone on stone and pressure flaking.


Man Discovers Fire:

  1. Accidentally one of the greatest discoveries made by man was fire.
  2. Over a timeframe man learnt a few uses of fire.
  3. It was used in winters to keep warm and utilize it in the art of cooking food.


Early Rock Paintings:

  1. Man early caves had depictions on the wallpapers.
  2. These were found in M.P. what's more, Southern U.P.
  3. Early man's painted and what they felt in these works of art.
  4. They portrayed men hunting, women grinding, kids bouncing, and so forth.


The Deccan:

  1. Paleolithic sites have been found in the Deccan.
  2. Some major sites are Chirki-Nevasa in Maharashtra.


Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh and Hungsi in Karnataka:

  1. Rivers like Godavari, Krishna and Tapti drained the area.
  2. Large number of Paleolithic tools made using stone have been found along the river.
  3. Archaeologists are examining these tools precisely to understand the life of early man.
  4. Bones, horns and tusks of animals like elephant and wild bull have been found.
