Chapter - 7 Urban Administration

• As of late, there has been a quick development in the rate of urbanization because of development of urban areas spread over enormous zones.
• With the advancement of urban areas, developed the issue of tight streets, roads turned parking lots, water and power deficiency, swarmed doctor's facilities and absence of essential metro courtesies.
• Some kids broke a tube light in the city. They raced to the city office where they were informed that it was kept up by the district.

Region:

1. A region is either as a Municipal Committee or Municipal Council. It is found in towns and little urban areas.
2. All residents who are of 18 years or more can vote in the races. The applicants who wish to challenge decisions must be 21 years or above.
3. Seats are held for SC/ST and 33% seats are saved for ladies.
4. The Council is going by a Councilor. Huge urban communities comprise of Municipal Corporation.
5. The CEO of the Municipal Corporation is called Municipal Commissioner.
6. The everyday work of Municipality is completed with various advisory groups.
7. The Municipal Corporation accommodates healing facilities, open utilities, record of births and deaths and takes care of street lights, garbage collection, water supply, keeping the streets and the market clean.
8. Sometimes, people group challenges to the district to make prompt move of their issues.
9. Since heaps of district have expanded, workload of region is being shared by private contractual workers.
10. Surat city has set a good example for controlling pandemics like circumstance.
